|  Dear Comrades |

Can’t SUPPORT JNU this time.

I am sorry I cannot support you and say “Bharat Murbadad”. Politburo members, who think it to be a commendable job, please be sure that this is what RSS wanted. To kill the spirit of Left vocalism. Just because of a few misguided young bloods, entire liberal intelligentsia cannot be hold guilty.

I also believe Kashmir has been made Chutzpah. Yes, not that I am an immense nationalist you see. But I can’t.  Can you burn an Indian flag and say “Yeh Azaadi jhoota hai”?

The same Afzal Guru event happened a year before. No one said anything. Now, because the main critiques of the Modi regime are coming out from JNU, the state wants to discredit JNU. JNU fell into the trap.

No. We also believe that we didn’t obtain the kind of freedom Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru or even Gandhi dreamt of. We are still not socially, financially independent. Shackles of casteism, communalism, poverty, uneven distribution of wealth seized our development as a Nation. An inter-conflicting Country we are.

I have always seen you people studying at Jawaharlal Nehru University with a towering esteem. I mean the aura and lineage of the academia speaks tones.

Being a student there, shouting slogans there, debating over Imperialism there is a dream for any student activist. Goosebumps? Maybe. Or the elitism of the campus that matters.

This time I cannot support JNU. I cannot stand beside students who shout “Bharat ko Barbaad kar ke Chodengey”, “Pakistan Zindabaad” “Hindusthan ki besharmi ki haad hai”.

I am sorry I cannot support the slogans which demean my homeland, my nation. I simply can’t burn my flag, shout “Bharat Murbabad” in a public place and walk freely.

I have participated in several anti-establishment movements. Many of us had but there we never thought of raising slogans which says “Bharat Murdabad”, “Bharat ko kaad denge barbaad”.

JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar has been arrested. He belongs to AISF, the students’ body of Communist Party of India- an ally of Left Front.

Just heard that Sitaram Yechury and some other top leaders of Left have condemned the arrest. I am sorry but my miniscule mind thinks it to be wrong. Wrong to show your affiliations towards some Anti-Indian demonstrators who shout against India like Hafiz Saeed do in Islamabad.

Pardon me but it’s wrong for a registered All India political party already into electoral politics to indulge its members shouting “Bharat Murdabad, Hindustan ko Barbaad kaad key Chodengey”. You simply cannot do that if you participate in Indian Elections, hold an Indian passport.

Of course, you have difference with Maoists. The separatists. They chose not to get included in the system. But you decided to fight the system staying in it. You decided to combat communal hooligans like RSS and ISIS, a megalomaniac, Psychopath like Narendra Modi, some crony-capitalists who gulp all the Indian benefits and then shit on Indian aam-admi. That was the deal right?

Where from this “PAKISTAN ZINDABAAD” “BHARAT KI BADBADI KA JUNG RAHEGI”, came from? There is a clear demarcation between criticizing the government and blatantly disrespecting the nation.

You think Parliament attack was all right? You think those jawans killed saving MPs including your party did a stupid job? Please make it straight comrade. Are we firstly fighting for the liberalism of India or Pakistan?

A matured Nationalism gives rise of Internationalism. That was the idea right?

An isolated incident, which does not reflect the opinion of the vast majority of the students, is now being blatantly used as an excuse to clamp down on the progressive and democratic student movement.

Let’s not support this. We didn’t obtain a real independence we dreamt of. We are still Indians. It’s all right if you like Pakistan. Even I like Pakistani Singers, the best musicians they have, the poems they write, the girls out there but along with saying Pakistan Zindabad, lets say for once: Hindustan Zindabad!

Take care,

MRG
