missing 24*7

every time i get a missed call i assure myself that i am still connected.i am still within the domain of my friends.my friends have not forgotten me.this is such a weird thing but so very common among us.before facebook and orkut totally invaded our lives,it used to be a daily session for us to give number of missed calls to number of friends.when someone is coming late or in an urgent situation we just line up a number of missed calls to alert the person to come soon or call sharp.we give missed calls in the caer,bus,lake,school,office,temple and even while we are making love. now please dont ask me to whom we need to give a missed call?

P.S. by the way,many of us still use the term missed call which is not correct. its blank call we give and the person on the other side miss it.so you just cannot give a missed call.is it?

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A CIVIL SERVICE ASPIRANT

just came back from rice....the introductory lecture by Dr.Amol Mukherjee was just fabulous.it was so very motivating that at one point i thought that i have to leave every single thing in my life to reach the top.the place a thousand cadres aspire but only a few of them get to see the real glow. am i going to be the lucky boy? only the upsc members know!! the first class so not tedious but i got the hint of what its going to be. every sunday we are going to have a weekly test. now this is going to be real hectic for me. every sunday i am going for my ias classes at 10am in sealdah.that means i have to get out of my home by 9am because im not going to get the metro.then i am going to have my classes till 4.15pm and then the test which i have planned to give in 45mins to save the time of my journey to workshop from 6pm.then from 8.30pm i am going to teach my student in bansdroni...ufff..a real hectic day its going to be.but i have to do all these things..infact i have to leave a lot of my things and activities slowly. i cannot just compromise with this training sessions..its not just about 40,000 the course fee but also about a securd future. i still wonder being a film maker..yes its true but that i can do later..atleast i dont have to eat peanuts and sleep on roads to make my first film.anyway, the first thing i am going to do in this week is to kill some one rather something. i am going to kill most of my present lifestyle. its for the sake of my training. hopefully now you should understand how desperate i am to crack the nut....
and finally sharing something i heard in my rice class...
it was the first day and the class was combined with the students of weekday and week end batch. i sat in the last row and the teachers voice was quite inaudible from there.we repeatedly asked the teacher to speak a little louder but she was incapable of speaking beyond that decibel. i was sitting beside a boy..some jha..yes future bihar ias cadre!!! he was getting irritated with the sound issue.he was trying hard to understand the entire class lecture and suddenly he bursted....."arey, yeh kya ho raha hai,yaha hum future meh sarkar bananey jahrahe hai or aplog ek mic ka bandobast nehi kar saktey..kaisa syestem hai yeh"???
so very true....shall i sing "india sir yeh chiz dhurandar???" no way,maybe this guy is going to be the ias topper..i mean u dont need to be a genius you see. u just need to work hard like a laborer..meticulously for a year to reach the secretariat!!!!

today for the very first time ,i am going to attend RICE classes. its thrilling but also feary. i mean i dont know whats going to happen 2years down the line.am i going to get the ias with flying colors or i am going back to the world of media with a boom and the gift of the gab? its uncertain but i have to do it. i dont know from the first time i had a feeling that ias is only for those who are born winners and i a born looser. it hardly matters now if i come last,i am used to all these things.
Rice opened its ias training branch from this year only and i just gave it a try to seat for the entrance examinations and holy shit..i came eighth. okay,my friends,just got a call from a buddy,no party for today.we were going to have a party but krishna bhagaban denied. what to do?
anyway, its going to be my first class and i have to make the best out of it. lets hope for the best.
